Traysi Flores Therapy
Mindful
& Experiential Therapy

What I mean by Mindful and Experiential Therapy:
Experiential Therapy goes beyond talking about an experience and instead helps us work with what is happening throughout your system in real time. Through approaches such as parts work, EMDR, and imaginatively revisiting a recent experience, we use mindfulness to observe our deeper emotions, beliefs, sensations, urges, and patterns that emerge.
From there, we can explore and offer what your system may need- whether that's allowing an emotion to be felt and processed, understanding a protective response, or creating space for a belief to shift. Throughout the process, we continue to slow down and mindfully notice what's happening, what's shifting, and for new experiences to be felt and integrated.

Who its for:
For adults who have rich inner worlds but need help slowing down to explore it more deeply and meaningfully. You may already be able to make the connections about the how & the why, but find that your mind moves quickly from one thought or insight to the next.
Mindfulness and experiential therapy creates the time and space for you to stay with what is happening inside, noticing the emotions, sensations, beliefs, and shifts that might otherwise be easy to move past & miss.

What the process can look like:
I adapt this work to what feels most natural and supportive for you. Some clients enjoy closing their eyes and noticing what’s happening inside, while others prefer to keep their eyes open and take a little more time to reflect before responding. Some move between the two—closing their eyes when they want to focus inward and opening them when they want to reconnect with me.
There is no right or wrong way to do this work. We follow what feels safest and most authentic to you and the way you naturally process.
