What is EMDR

EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help the brain process painful experiences so they can be stored differently- allowing them to feel less emotionally intense and create space for you to feel and engage differently in the present.

Who its for:

For adults who want to process painful memories & experiences that have left them feeling stuck with negative views of themselves or others, as well as emotional responses that may no longer make sense.

This might include early childhood experiences, relationship wounds, loss, rejection, or other distressing experiences that have left you feeling stuck.

You might notice these patterns continue to show up in how you experience yourself, your relationships, and how you operate in the world.

What the process can look like:

We don't just jump into the painful memories, and you'll never be expected to share every single detail of your experiences.

Before beginning reprocessing, we take time to understand where you're stuck, what you need, and assess whether your nervous system feels ready. Once we do begin reprocessing, you always hold agency over what you share, when you need to pause, and how quickly we move.

All along, we collaborate to make decisions about your treatment, allowing for treatment to remain flexible and respectful of you, your pace, and your nervous system.
